It was truly a pleasure meeting His Excellency Mr Ridwaan Jadwat, Australia’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, and discussing the vision of OBS Global — One Business Season. The meeting offered a valuable opportunity to share our ambition for a chapter-based business ecosystem that connects international relationships with practical opportunities for enterprise and investment.

For me, the value of such dialogue lies in what it encourages us to do next. A conversation can reveal common interests, introduce a new perspective and help us understand where businesses need support. Its lasting significance depends on thoughtful follow-up, credible proposals and the willingness to build trust over time.

The purpose of business diplomacy

Business diplomacy brings a human dimension to international commerce. Before organisations consider working together, they need to understand each other’s priorities and expectations. Diplomatic engagement provides an important setting for that exchange, while businesses remain responsible for evaluating opportunities and carrying out their commitments.

My discussion on OBS Global reinforced a conviction that guides our work: access to the right people should lead to better understanding and better decisions. Entrepreneurs need more than visibility. They need relevant introductions, informed guidance and a realistic route to the markets they hope to enter.

This is particularly important for smaller businesses. A promising enterprise may have a strong product yet lack the relationships or local knowledge needed to expand internationally. A well-organised business network can help identify those gaps and connect the enterprise with appropriate expertise, without promising outcomes that no introduction alone can guarantee.

The OBS Global vision

OBS Global — One Business Season is being developed around the idea of sustained engagement. Our vision is to connect business leaders with diplomatic missions, family offices, investors and professional communities through chapters and complementary platforms. Each connection should have a clear purpose and a practical way to continue the conversation.

The chapter model matters because international ambition requires local understanding. Country and professional chapters can help participants learn about business practices, identify relevant contacts and assess whether an opportunity fits their capabilities. The goal is a network whose value continues beyond a meeting or an event.

As Chief Business Savior, I see our responsibility as helping businesses become better prepared to collaborate. That means encouraging clear communication, responsible conduct and proposals that explain the commercial need as carefully as the opportunity. Credibility must grow alongside the network.

Exploring engagement with Australia

Australia is an important part of our international outlook. I would welcome further engagement with Australian businesses and professional communities interested in exploring the OBS Global vision. The starting point should be their priorities: which markets they wish to understand, what capabilities they can offer and what kind of partners they need.

Areas worth exploring could include technology, education, sustainable development and professional services. These are possibilities for future engagement, rather than announcements of agreed projects. The strongest collaborations will emerge where a specific need meets relevant expertise and where both parties can define a workable scope.

For example, a technology company considering a new market needs to understand potential customers, implementation requirements and local support. An education initiative needs suitable institutional relationships and a clear purpose for participants. A network can help begin these exchanges, but progress requires the people involved to test assumptions and agree on responsibilities.

Turning dialogue into responsible action

The next step after a productive meeting should be a focused proposal. It should identify the opportunity, explain why the proposed participants are relevant and set out what further discussion is needed. This approach respects everyone’s time and makes it easier to distinguish genuine potential from broad expressions of interest.

Within the OBS Global vision, I want introductions to be followed by structured conversations and clear ownership of the next action. Where participants identify mutual interest, they can evaluate feasibility and consider a suitable form of cooperation. Any formal arrangement must depend on their own assessment and agreement.

Integrity must remain central to this work. We should represent opportunities accurately, respect each institution’s role and allow relationships to develop at a responsible pace. The confidence of prospective partners depends on our ability to communicate clearly and follow through on what we undertake.

An invitation to build lasting relationships

My invitation to business leaders and prospective partners is straightforward: bring a clear ambition, explain the support you need and be ready to contribute your own expertise. OBS Global’s purpose is to help create the conditions in which such conversations can develop into responsible business relationships.

The measure of our work will be the usefulness of those relationships. When an entrepreneur gains a clearer route to market, a business finds an appropriate collaborator or an investor receives a better-prepared proposal, the network has served a real purpose. That is the standard I want OBS Global to pursue.
